When a couple, Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), infiltrate a suburban cult they plan to expose with a documentary, they learn that the cult’s spiritual leader is a frail young woman (Brit Marling) who claims to be from the future.
What follows is a complex examination of faith and fear, as Peter and Lorna find themselves getting in too deep. It’s also a striking showcase for the ethereally beautiful and dynamic Marling, who made waves with her starring role in "Another Earth." (Both films debuted at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.)

Director Zal Batmanglij, who co-wrote the script with Marling, sets a foreboding tone in the deceptively calm suburban setting, and together they unleash a thoughtfully ambiguous ending with a clever twist that will make you gasp.
