Utah dining: Plan ahead for your Mother’s Day brunch

Everyone knows that the best way to pamper mom on Mother’s Day is to take her to a nice restaurant.

Of course, your Mom learned long ago not to leave her big day to chance. This year, 65 percent of moms say they will be in charge of booking their own dining reservations, according to a recent survey by OpenTable, Inc., an online restaurant reservations website.

No matter who is making the reservations, you’ll want to place them soon, as Mother’s Day is the busiest dining day of the year.

Here’s a list of Utah restaurants that will be open. Prices listed do not include tax, tip or alcoholic beverages.

Café Trio Downtown » 680 S. 900 East, Salt Lake City; 801-533-8746. Regular a la carte brunch available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular dinner menu available from 3 to 9 p.m.

Café Trio Cottonwood » 6405 S. 3000 East, Holladay; 801-944-8746. Brunch buffet served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults $29.99, children, 6-14, $14.99; 5 and under free. Regular a la carte dinner menu will be available form 3 to 9 p.m.

Christopher’s Steakhouse & Grill » 1122 E. Draper Parkway, Draper; 801-572-2639. Brunch buffet available from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adults $17.99, children 10 and under $9.99.

Cucina Vanina Deli & Café » 1844 Fort Union Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights; 801-938-9706. Three course meal for $19.99 available form 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children’s meal available for $5.99

Faustina » 454 E. 300 South, Salt Lake City; 801-746-4441. Regular brunch menu will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular dinner menu served from 4:30 to 9 p.m. New, extended and remodeled patio will be open if weather permitting.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse » 20 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City; 801-355-3704. Three course-brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., includes salad or fruit, choice of entrée and dessert. Adults $34.95; child’s menu $16.95. All moms will receive a $25 dining card for a future visit.

Franck’s » 6264 S. Holladay Blvd., Holladay, 801-274-6264. Serving a four-course set-price meal. Seating at 11 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. Adults, $55, children 12 and under $27.
