Refugee gardeners need your help

You’ve heard of a Flash Mob, but how about a Farm Mob?

On Saturday, March 24, Slow Food Utah is hoping to get as many volunteers as possible to help the New Roots Refugee Garden prepare for spring.

Work will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garden, 3060 S. Lester St. (3100 S. Redwood Road), West Valley City. Light lunch provided by Roots Cafe.

The community garden offers plots and entrepreneurial training to refugees who are trying to make new lives for themselves in Utah. It’s a partnership between Salt Lake County, the Utah Refugee Coalition and the International Rescue Committee.
