The Salem Witch trials come to life in the 1996 adaptation of Arthur Miller’s "The Crucible," which will be screened for free on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the Grand Theatre, 1575 S. State St. in Salt Lake City.
Miller adapted his 1955 play for the film, which stars Daniel-Day Lewis, Winona Ryder and Joan Allen. The play, about a spurned woman who accuses her ex-lover’s wife of witchcraft, is an allegory for the McCarthyism of the 1950s.
