Wendy Mitchell, owner of the Avalanche Cheese Co., in Basalt, Colo., will be in Salt Lake City on Monday, Feb. 13, offering free samples of her award-winning goat’s milk cheese. Samples will be available from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Whole Foods Market, 1131 E. Wilmington Ave., Salt Lake City

At 6 p.m. Mitchell will hold an informal discussion about raw milk cheeses. Customers can participate in a taste test comparing two identical cheeses, one made with raw milk and another with pasteurized milk from the same animals.
