Tom Call was recently hired as the new chef for the Trio Restaurant Group. In his new position, the 29-year-old will divide his time among the Salt Lake City and Cottonwood Trio restaurants and Fresco Italian Cafe. A graduate of the California Culinary Academy, Call interned in Italy and has worked the past 10 years in some of San Francisco’s top-rated restaurants including Campton Place, Aqua, One Market and Coi.

Pop on over to new South Jordan café
Pop On Over Cafe and Deli, which specializes in light and airy New York-style popovers, opened recently at 1098 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan. The popovers come in various flavors including plain, cinnamon sugar, garlic, onion, Asiago cheese and whole wheat. They are used for meat sandwiches, as well as breakfast offerings. Italian wine dinner
