Two Utah restaurants are holding special Chinese New Year celebrations to ring in the Year of the Dragon.

Thaifoon – Taste of Asia at The Gateway in downtown Salt Lake City will offer a "Feast of Fortune" menu from Jan. 20-23 with limited-time items such as Asian sea bass, lucky noodles, char siu pork tenderloin and General Tso's chicken.

The Mandarin in Bountiful will hold a two-week Chinese New Year celebration Jan. 23 -Feb. 4. A special menu for parties of four or more people is available for $20 per person. Chicken lettuce wraps, pork pot stickers, black bean beef and Mongolian pork with Chinese sausage are just a few items planned. Regular menu also available.

A traditional Lion Dance will be performed by an eight-person troupe Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. The Lion will make its way through the Mandarin, interacting with guests, eating lettuce for good luck and blessing the kitchen. Reservations are accepted for eight or more people. Parties fewer than eight may call ahead and have their name placed on the waiting list.
