Utah films celebrated all weekend in Park City

Before taking a break to make room for the Sundance Film Festival, the Park City Film Series will celebrate films produced in Utah.

The "Made In Utah Film Weekend" runs Thursday, Jan. 12, through Sunday, Jan. 15, at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library Center, 1255 Park Ave., Park City.

Here’s the lineup of films:

"SLC Punk" » James Merendino’s remembrance of Utah’s ’90s punk scene, starring Matthew Lillard, screens Thursday at 7 p.m.

"Melvin & Howard" » Jonathan Demme’s comedy about the truck driver (Paul Le Mat) who claimed to have picked up Howard Hughes (Jason Robards), screens Friday at 8 p.m.

"Peloton" » A 2011 bicycling drama, screens Saturday at 8 p.m.

"The Searchers" » John Ford’s 1956 classic, starring John Wayne and Natalie Wood, screens Sunday at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $7 each night; or $6 for students and seniors. Tickets available at the door.
