The amazing path taken by a loggerhead turtle from birth to parenthood is explored in the documentary "Turtle: The Incredible Journey," screening on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the City Library auditorium, 210 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City.
The documentary, directed by Nick Stringer, starts with a baby loggerhead hatched on a beach in Florida. It then rides the Gulf Stream to the North Atlantic, to Africa and eventually back to Florida — where, if it is the one in a thousand that survives, it will mate and produce more loggerheads.

The screening is this month’s Science Movie Night at the City Library. After the screening, staff from The Living Planet Aquarium will talk about their rescued green sea turtle, and answer your turtle-related questions.
The screening starts at 6:30 p.m., and is free to the public.
