'Building Creative Minds'

The Salt Lake Arts Academy is launching its "Building Creative Minds" annual fund-raising campaign Nov. 1. The campaign, which will run through Dec. 31, raises funds for the school's operating budget.

'Dumbstruck' screening

The Salt Aire Foundation announces a screening of "Dumbstruck" about the professional world of ventriloquists. The red-carpet gala will feature an art exhibit, silent auction and dinner. A sneak peek of the Utah-based series, "Mom I'm Dating a Mormon," will open the screening of "Dumbstruck." Director Mark Goffman (currently executive producer of the TV series "White Collar") and producer Lindsay Goffman, along with various cast members, local celebrities and business leaders will attend.

'First Winter Blast'

Park City's Egyptian Theatre will host a new "First Winter Blast. The gala includes a social hour with door prizes, live and silent auctions, five-course dinner from the Montage Deer Valley, a preview of the Egyptian Theatre's "Burlesque" and "Jesus Christ Superstar," and a winter gear fashion show.

Scholarship benefit with Kurt Bestor

March of Dimes supports local chefs
