Dining news and notes: Classics at Penny Ann's

Penny Ann's Café, a family-owned restaurant serving classic breakfasts and Italian specialties, opened recently at 1810 S. Main in Salt Lake City. The menu includes house-made corned beef, sour cream pancakes, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and chicken Parmesan. All items priced under $10. Summer specials at Martine

Martine in downtown Salt Lake City is serving a three-course dinner special for $25. The menu includes soup or salad, choice of Marsala grilled Utah trout or balsamic marinated beef filet and dessert. The café, at 22 E. 100 South, is open for lunch Monday to Friday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Free valet parking. For reservations, call 801-363-9328.

Anniversary dogs

Wienerschnitzel will celebrate its 50th anniversary Sunday, July 17, with 61-cent chili dogs, mustard dogs and kraut dogs. The chain, founded in 1961, will have prize giveaways throughout the day. Guests also can enter to win a trip to Germany. Wienerschnitzel has locations in American Fork, Draper, Harrisville, Midvale, Orem, Salt Lake City, West Jordan and West Valley City.
