Sometimes travel guidebooks are so bulky they are hard to carry when wandering through a city.
Rick Steves has just released three new pocket guides to London, Paris and Rome published by Avalon. The $12.99 paperbacks offer full color maps and photos and are designed for 1- to 7-day trips. They contain maps, self-guided city walks and tours.
Other features include reference charts, fold-out city maps, neighborhood overviews, photos, must-see attractions, food and accommodations charts, and an appendix filled with information on trip planning and practicalities.
Steves is a European expert who has spent more than 100 days a year in Europe since 1973.
