The Utah Jazz could be significantly shorthanded Friday night, when they play host to Golden State at EnergySolutions Arena.
The game will tip-off at 8:30 p.m.
After the team's morning shootaround, starters Marvin Williams, Derrick Favors, Richard Jefferson and Trey Burke were reported to be struggling with injuries and illness. So was backup point guard John Lucas. Their availability against the Warriors will be a game-time decision, according Jazz spokesman Jonathan Rinehart.
Williams is bothered by a sore Achilles and Favors has hip inflammation. Jefferson and Burke are struggling with gastric distress while Lucas has a sore lower back.
Gordon Hayward, the Jazz's lone starter who is certain to play against Golden State, said he was "shocked" to hear about the Jazz's health issues but noted any absences will provide others with an opportunity.
If Burke and Lucas are unable to play, Diante Garrett will be the Jazz's only healthy point guard, although Hayward would likely assume more quarterbacking duties.
