Oklahoma City Thunder roll to a 90-80 victory over Utah Jazz
Russell Westbrook scored 25 points and Kevin Durant just missed a triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists as Oklahoma City rolled to a 90-80 victory over the Jazz on Tuesday night at EnergySolutions Arena.
In search of their eighth win in the last nine games, the Jazz jumped to an early 4-2 lead on Gordon Hayward's three-point shot.
Oklahoma City converted seven of its next 10 possessions, however, and went on a 16-6 run.
It was 22-13 after Durant scored his first field goal, but the Thunder managed only four points in the final 3 1/2 minutes.
Oklahoma City took a 26-19 lead into the second quarter, which began with Utah converting two of its first 11 possessions.
The Thunder eventually built a 39-28 lead on a three-point by Durant and the Jazz could not rally after committing two turnovers and missing two shots in the final two minutes.
Oklahoma City took a 45-35 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, the teams traded baskets and the Thunder maintained a 65-55 lead with 2:35 remaining.
Al Jefferson scored late back-to-back baskets, however, and Utah trailed 68-61 heading into the fourth quarter, which Oklahoma City controlled.
The Jazz never got closer than four and lost for the third time in four games against the Thunder this season.
