San Antonio • The Jazz played one of their best games in recent memory, but the end result was the same.

A loss. And an especially heartbreaking one at that.

After leading for most of the game and forcing overtime on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer by Marvin Williams, the Jazz couldn't keep up in the final period, losing 104-97.

The Jazz tied the game at 95 on a 3-pointer with Mo Williams mid-way through overtime, but the Spurs closed the game on a 9-2 run to give the Jazz their 11th loss in their last 14 games.

The Jazz led by as many as 10 points in the second quarter, but could never entirely dismiss the Spurs.

Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Mo Williams had 23 points for the Jazz. Al Jefferson added a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Jazz play at Dallas on Sunday and then at home against Philadelphia on Monday.
