Utah Jazz assistant coach Sidney Lowe was arrested and charged Monday with three misdemeanors for willful failure to pay his North Carolina state income tax.

Lowe, 53, owns a home in Wake Forest, N.C., He did not file a state tax return in 2009, 2010 and 2011, according to North Carolina’s Department of Revenue.

Lowe was booked into Wake County jail but later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond, according to a statement released by the agency.

He is scheduled to appear in Wake County District Court on March 19.

Lowe did not attend the Jazz’s practice on Monday night — their first after the All-Star break.

According to head coach Tyrone Corbin, Lowe will be in Utah on Tuesday for the Jazz’s morning shootaround and their game against Golden State at EnergySolutions Arena.

Corbin has spoken with Lowe but declined further comment on the situation.

“It’s a personal matter,” Corbin said. “We’ll deal with it. [Lowe] will make a statement at some point but it’s a personal matter. ... Things happen. You deal with it.”

Like Corbin, center Al Jefferson didn’t think the situation will impact the Jazz, whose game against Golden State is one with major playoff implications.

“That’s a personal matter with him,” Jefferson said. “Coach is a great guy, man. I don’t know the story about it. ... But he’ll take care of it.

Mo Williams agreed.

“Throughout the course of the season, there’s going to be distractions, whether they’re good or bad,” he said. “But at the end of the day we’ve got a job to do.
