Maybe the Utah Jazz’s longest break between games this season came at the wrong time.
They certainly don’t want to cool off.
The Jazz have won four of their last five as they await Saturday night’s game against Cleveland at EnergySolutions Arena.
Part of the reason for Utah’s recent success has been its red-hot 3-point shooting. The Jazz have made 41 of 89 3-pointers during the 4-1 stretch, which includes wins over Miami, Dallas, Detroit and Charlotte. As a team, Utah now shoots 37.3 percent from the 3-point line — eighth in the league.
Randy Foye and Gordon Hayward have been the Jazz’s shooting stars.
Foye has made at least one 3-point shot in 11 of the last 12 games. He has made 26 of his last 46 attempts, bumping his season percentage to 43.4.
Hayward has made at least one 3-pointer in eight of the last 11 games. He has made 23 of his last 41 on 3-point attempts and has improved his season percentage to 41.4.
Perhaps because of their improved outside shooting, the Jazz haven’t seen many zone defenses lately. They consistently struggled against zones earlier in the year.
"We’ve tried to get more repetition with it," coach Tyrone Corbin said. "We’re still going to see some zone because sometimes [other] teams can’t stop our bigs. They’ll go to a zone to slow us down. We just have to make sure we take the right shots, move our bodies and move the ball."

Carroll spends day off at high school game
After scoring 12 points in the Jazz’s 104-97 win over Miami — and with rare time off ahead of him — DeMarre Carroll was looking for something to do Tuesday night.
He turned to Twitter for help.
At noon, Carroll tweeted, "Was wondering what’s a good high school game to go to in SLC?"
At 1 p.m., Carroll asked his followers, "How do I get tix for the Lone Peak game. Trying to enjoy my day off."
By 6 p.m., Carroll’s plans for the evening were finalized: "Ready to see some good high school ball."
At 6:30 p.m., Carroll tweeted, "PG-Lone Peak. See y’all there."
Lone Peak rolled to a 78-43 victory over Pleasant Grove and, afterward, Carroll tweeted: "Good high school atmosphere. Trruee!"
Aggression, foul shots helped versus Heat
The Jazz played aggressively in their spirited win over Miami and were rewarded with a 28-16 advantage in free-throw attempts, including 10 by Paul Millsap.
"Our main thing is to make sure we take it to a team," said Foye. "We just try to take it to the team and let the referees make a decision."
Corbin "has been on us about it," Foye continued. "We haven’t had much practice time but, in the film sessions, he pointed out a lot of things.
"He wants us to be more aggressive cutting, getting up the court and pushing the ball ahead. I think that’s something we brought [back] from the road."
