Auburn Hills, Mich. • A night earlier, it was the Jazz who blew a 15-point lead. On Saturday, they turned the tables and turned a similar deficit into a 90-87 victory over the Detroit Pistons at the Palace at Auburn Hills. But they sure didn't make it easy on themselves. After building a 13-point fourth-quarter lead, the Jazz gave the Pistons a shot to tie the game after allowing the Pistons to close the game on a 12-2 run. Paul Millsap split two free throws with 4.1 seconds remaining, giving the Jazz a three-point. However, Brandon Knight's 3-point attempt at the buzzer was well short and the Jazz escaped. The Jazz only scored two points in the final 3:26 of the game, both on free throws.
After a sluggish start, the Jazz trailed by as much as 39-24 before outscoring the Pistons 25-11 in the critical third quarter. Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Randy Foye continued his hot shooting. After making 6-of-7 3-point attempts against the Hawks, Foye was 3-of 5 against the Hawks and finished with 17 points.
