Utah Jazz defeat Charlotte Bobcats, 112-102
Charlotte, N.C. • Despite missing two of their best perimeter players, the Jazz had one of their best shooting nights of the season and avoided becoming the woeful Bobcats' third victim in four games.
Al Jefferson scored 26 points to lead the Jazz to a 112-102 win over the Bobcats in front of a sparsely populated Time Warner Cable Arena.
Six players reached double figures for the Jazz, who never trailed were able to relax with the benches cleared with several minutes remaining.
The Bobcats, who trailed by as many as 21 points, cut the Jazz lead to 11 with 6:20 remaining, but back-to-back 3s by DeMarre Carroll and Randy Foye, followed by a three-point play by Alec Burks, put the game back out of reach.
Carroll started in place of small forward Marvin Williams, who is being held out for three games to see how he responds to treatment in his inflamed right knee. Carroll finished with 10 poitns and 6 rebounds in 28 minutes. The Jazz notched their fourth win in their last five games. They play at Atlanta on Friday and in Detroit against the Pistons on Saturday.
