The Jazz's upcoming pre-Christmas road trip includes two off days in Miami.

Good for the players.

Worrisome for a coach.

The Jazz open their weeklong journey Tuesday night at Brooklyn. After facing Indiana on Wednesday, they don't play again until Saturday at Miami.

While coach Tyrone Corbin is focused on the game against Brooklyn, he has noticed the Miami-related quirk in the schedule.

Asked about it before practice Monday morning, Corbin joked, "Can we go somewhere else?"

More seriously, he said, "We can't get caught up in the weather and what's going on in Miami. We have to make sure we understand the situation, especially with [the Heat] being as potent as they are. ...

"If you get sidetracked — thinking about others things — it can get nasty because they aren't going to feel sorry for you. They're used to it."

'It's a big trip'

The Jazz have lost consecutive games to Phoenix and Memphis, making at least partial success on this trek important to their long-term well-being.

Utah is 13-12, including 4-10 on the road.

"It's a big trip for us," Corbin said. "We didn't play our best basketball the last two games. ... We've got to understand the sense of urgency."

Facing D-Will

The Jazz have won six of their last seven games against the Nets. They are 2-0 since trading All-Star Deron Williams to New Jersey (now Brooklyn) midway through the 2010-11 season.

"It's another game." Corbin said. "... Deron and Brooklyn are next up. We won't go after Deron, we'll go after the Nets.

"I thought he had a great run here. Unfortunately, it came to an end. But we're not playing Deron. We're playing the Brooklyn Nets."

Asked about facing his former teammate, Paul Millsap said, "He's an opponent now. I don't see anything different than that.

"I think the problem is for him, when he comes back here. That's the biggest thing. But when we go there, he'll be in his comfort zone."
