Despite leading by as many as 12 points, the Jazz fell apart in the second half to lose 99-86 to Memphis, falling at home for just the second time this season.

The Jazz (13-12) led 54-44 at halftime but were outscored 28-10 in the third quarter and could not sustain a comeback in the fourth.

Back-to-back 3-pointers at the start of the quarter by Jamaal Tinsley and DeMarre Carroll — both former Grizzlies — cut Memphis’ lead to 74-70. However, the Grizzlies (15-6) called a timeout and quickly regrouped, feeding Zach Randolph, who scored 16 of his game-high 25 points in the second half.

Al Jefferson led the Jazz with 18 points and Enes Kanter and Gordon Hayward combined for 21 points. However, the Jazz bench was ineffective in the second half.

The Jazz have now been blown out on back-to-back nights, following a 99-84 loss in Phoenix on Friday. It’s a disconcerting skid for the Jazz, who play their next four games on the road against Eastern Conference teams.

The Jazz are just 4-10 away from EnergySolutions Arena.
