Anaheim, Calif. • Jazz fans better enjoy the Los Angeles Lakers being terrible while they can. It won’t last once the regular season gets going and everyone is at full strength.
Tuesday night at the Honda Center, however, the Jazz took full advantage of a Lakers lineup often consisting of Reeves Nelson, Robert Sacre, Devin Ebanks — and on like that — to build a 52-32 halftime lead.

The Jazz were led by 10 points from both Derrick Favors and Alec Burks. The Jazz trailed 12-11 in the first quarter before going on a frenetic run that yielded numerous transition opportunities. In the first half, the Jazz scored 12 fast-break points and forced 10 Laker turnovers. At one point, the Jazz run was 41-19.
The Jazz are on pace to defeat the Lakers for the second time in four nights, and are doing it this time without starting point guard Mo Williams, who was held out of the lineup with a strained right adductor muscle. Williams is expected return for Wednesday night’s game against the Clippers at Staples Center.
No Laker starter played more than 17 minutes or scored more than Kobe Bryant’s 8 points. Dwight Howard was held out again as he continues to recover from offseason back surgery, as was Pau Gasol, who coach Mike Brown said had looked fatigued in practice.
