The Jazz were affiliated with Idaho last season, but the Stampede have entered into an exclusive partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers.

In all, 16 D-League teams will operate during the upcoming season.

Five of those 16 teams are fully owned by their NBA affiliates, including the Austin Toros (San Antonio), the Canton Charge (Cleveland), the Dakota Wizards (Golden State), the Los Angeles D-Fenders (L.A. Lakers) and the Tulsa 66ers (Oklahoma City).

The Wizards have applied to relocate their affiliate from Bismarck, N.D., to Santa Cruz, Calif., in a move that would bring the team closer to the Warriors.

Beginning this season, NBA players in the first three years of their careers may be assigned to their D-League affiliate an unlimited number of times, according to the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Players beyond the first three years of their NBA careers may be assigned to their D-League affiliate with their consent and the consent of the NBA Players Association.
