Some pre-game quotes from the Jazz:— Asked about his team's position in the Western Conference playoff race, coach Tyrone Corbin says, "We're where we are because of the hard work we've put in and we've got a great opportunity to get into the playoffs. ... We're shorthanded but we're capable. We're going to move things around and give ourselves a chance. We need everybody ready and focused on what we're trying to do and just be ready to play."— Asked why point guard Devin Harris is playing so well lately, Corbin said, "Speed. I think he's doing a great job of pushing the ball down the floor. ... He uses his speed to get on top of the basket and break down defenses and finish."— Newcomer Blake Ahearn, on what he wants to accomplish in the final eight games of the regular season: "Just take advantage of an opportunity — whatever it is. Control what you can and make the best of it."— Ahearn says he has tried to pattern his game after freewheeling Pete Maravich, whose jersey is retired by the Jazz: "Being a new guy I probably have to control that a little bit. But I know what I can do well. I'm going to stick to it and try to help the team."— Ahearn, on how to make a good impression before the end of the regular season: "Being on a couple of teams — in the summer league, the D-League — I've gotten a good grasp of what I need to do. I hope in a short amount of time I can prove myself."— Steve Luhm
