The Jazz led 83-67 with 9 minutes, 36 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

QUARTER-BY-QUARTER ANALYSIS

The First: Jazz 27, Timberwolves 15

Utah starts strong. Minnesota connects on just 1 of its first 10 field goals and Utah jumps out to a 10-2 lead. The Jazz stretch their advantage to 20-8 while the Timberwolves go 3 of 17.

The Second: Jazz 49, Timberwolves 37

Utah looks even sharper. The Jazz's defense is in full attack mode, gobbling up loose balls and filling passing lanes, and Minnesota fails to react. It's 39-21 Utah before the T-wolves even start playing.

The Third: Jazz 77, Timberwolves 64

Finally, Minnesota wakes up. The Wolves open the first half on a 15-6 run, pulling within 55-52 and energizing the Target Center. But Utah stands strong, building its lead back to 13.

The Fourth: Timberwolves 100, Jazz 98

Utah watches a 16-point lead suddenly disappear. J.J. Barea goes off, rookie Derrick Williams steps up, and Minnesota fights for a 95-93 lead after Williams sinks two free throws. Luke Ridnour hits a running floater with no time left on the clock to win it.
