Al Jefferson scores 34 to lead Utah Jazz past Washington Wizards

Al Jefferson scored 26 of his season-high 34 points in the first half and the Utah Jazz snapped a two-game losing streak Friday night by beating the Washington Wizards, 114-100, at EnergySolutions Arena.

The First: Jazz 32, Wizards 20

The Wizards make their first five shots. They take a 10-4 lead before the Jazz convert 13 of their next 20 possessions. Al Jefferson finishes with 10 points. Raja Bell and Earl Watson add five each.

The Second: Jazz 62, Wizards 50

Derrick Favors scores from the lane to make it 36-24, but the Jazz manage one field goal in almost five minutes. The Wizards get within seven, but Jefferson scores 16 points in the final 5:41.

The Third: Jazz 100, Wizards 78

Washington trails, 62-52, before the Jazz take control with a blistering 30-12 run. They convert 12 of 15 possessions. Paul Millsap and Devin Harris each score eight points the six-minute stretch.

The Fourth: Jazz 114, Wizards 100

The Jazz quickly cool. They manage only four points in the opening five minutes. The Wizards trail, 104-90, when Nick Young buries a jumper. But rookie Alec Burks scores twice to stop the run.
