Dallas • Rodrigue Beaubois' game-high 22 points led the Mavericks to a 116-101 victory against the Jazz on Friday at the American Airlines Center.

Paul Millsap's team-high 20 points topped Utah (10-7), who has lost three of four.

The First: Jazz 30, Mavericks 30

Utah starts slow, looks wide-eyed and falls behind 9-6. But Mavs guard Jason Kidd (right calf strain) leaves the game with 9:47 left in the period and Dallas loses its rhythm.

The Second: Mavericks 58, Jazz 50

Yi Jianlian and Rodrigue Beaubois propel Dallas to a 42-37 advantage, as the Mavericks smoothly run the court. A 3 by Vince Carter stretches Dallas' lead to 10 late in the period.

The Third: Mavericks 88, Jazz 82

Al Jefferson fights to pull Utah within 69-63. But the Mavericks' athleticism is too much and Dallas' lead swells to 14 after Jason Terry buries a 3 midway through the quarter.

The Fourth: Mavericks 116, Jazz 101

After edging within two at the end of the third period, Utah continues to show fight. But the Mavericks' lead is soon back to 13 after Lamar Odom drains back-to-back 3s.
