The First: Hornets 22, Jazz 18

The Jazz start slowly and make one of their first six shots. The Hornets take a 15-9 lead when Jason Smith hits three straight jumpers. He finishes with eight points, doubling his season average.

The Second: Jazz 50, Hornets 47

Down six, the Jazz get a lift off the bench from Alec Burks, who contributes a layup and a three-pointer during a 16-3 run that gives them the lead. Utah converts 11 of its final 14 possessions.

The Third: Hornets 74, Jazz 70

Utah's starters struggle again. The Hornets make five of their first seven shots, open the quarter on an 11-4 run and regain the lead. The Jazz rally briefly but have difficulty stopping Jarrett Jack.
