Official postgame quotes and notes from the Jazz's 117-100 road loss to Denver on Wednesday.George Karl – Nuggets Head Coach(On the fast pace, high scoring play thus far) I know we're scoring a lot of points but in general I am more happy with out defense. The stat sheet says we didn't have a great defensive game, but we made a lot of good defensive plays and it gives us a good foundation in what we need to work on. Our post defense, I kind of said before the game, scared me a little bit and I thought Jefferson and Millsap hurt us down there a little bit. I think as the game went on we got better. We turned them over, got some double teams and got some better reads. I think we're missing a lot of easy shots; a lot of shots that I think are great shots and are passing it at a high level. There is very few selfish basketball plays out there. There's a lot of sound commitment to playing the way that the team plays best, which is just to attack, attack, attack, defend every possession with some integrity and some intensity. There's a lot of good and a lot of young guys that are good, and a lot of old guys playing well. Al Harrington is playing great. Nene was probably the best player on the court tonight. We get to enjoy it for about 12 hours and then get ready for about two of the toughest games we've played all year. Andre Miller – Nuggets Guard(On pace of game) We tried, especially with them being on a back to back. Utah lead the charge to start the game, but we found a way to make some easy buckets.

(Nene mismatch) Every night is a mismatch for him as long as he's aggressive. We got the ball into him and made some cuts and once he got some easy baskets, it opened everything up for everybody.

(Question from Maya) We're just trying to be active with our hands. We got some guys, even the big guys.

(On going back to Portland) It's just another game. I don't look at it any different. The main thing is just to win the game. I look at it like that and don't take anything from it. Nene – Nuggets CenterWe have a lot of product players. A lot of players who can be the man of the night. We don't have superstars, we have a team.

(If he likes that style) Oh yeah. It's good because you know we are going to play hard. We trust each other. We're going to try and help each other. We're going to pass the ball. We're going to make shots. That's a team. We're going to commit mistakes, but we'll still keep going.

(On stopping Utah's dribble penetration) We did our best. When we play unique together, we can do a lot of serious defense, serious damage. WE use our hands and we got a lot of steals.

(on the Nuggets bigs) We have a lot of different combinations. Rudy made the balls outside. All the guys off the bench did a great job too. Tyrone Corbin - Jazz Head Coach We're not satisfied where we are individually and as a team. We had a discussion about where we think we are. It's going to be long season. It will be quick and it's going to be a lot of games really fast. We need to get out quickly. The effort we got for the most part today wasn't satisfactory, so we're going to have a discussion about it. We let them go where they wanted to go on the floor early and as a result they got lobs, they got drives to the basket, they got too many things, so we got to get it figured out as to who we are and we talked about creating our identity. The identity we have right now is they can get whatever they want to get. We can't settle for that. Paul Millsap – Jazz Forward(What happened after that 21-6 run?) We somewhat fell apart. We lost track of what we were doing. We lost focus. Still early in the season, but we're not going to make excuses. They came out and worked harder than we did.

(Identity of team) That's kind of at the top of the list and we've got to find out who we are and what we're about before we can make any strides in getting better.

(First step to find answers?) Lay everything out on the line. Every time you get on the court you lay in on the line and also sit back and watch film, see who you are on film, but first you've got start by playing the whole 48 minutes hard.

(Will home help?) With the fans, especially with our young group I think the home court advantage will help us, give us a little energy and let us get out and run a little bit.

(Defense problems) Rotation, rotation, not being in the right rotation, not helping each other. Anything you can name we kind of lost track. Alec Burks – Jazz Guard(How did it feel out there tonight?) It was great to get out there and play in front of Denver. Colorado has great fans and it was great to see them again. The end result wasn't what we wanted. We're going to keep working on it, but it was great to be in front of friends and family again.

(Building with the young team) Watch the film, see what we did wrong, learn from the mistakes and don't do them again. That's basically it.

(What did coach say after the game?) That we fought harder in training camp against each other. We've got to show what we did in training camp. We fought harder against the people we know than against people we don't. We've just got to do a better job playing our game.

With Nene's 25-point performance tonight, he has now scored 25+ points 13 times in his career with the Nuggets, going 8-5 in those games. Burks attended Colorado University and made his debut as a pro in Denver tonight. The Nuggets have started the season 2-0, with both wins coming by double-digit margins (won by 17 tonight and by 22 on 12/26 at Dallas). It is the first time Denver has started the season with back-to-back double-digits wins since the 1985-86 season (won by 14 at Golden State on 10/25 and by 11 vs. Sacramento on 10/26).Denver registered 117 points in their win tonight and have scored 110+ points in both their first two contests. Last season the Nuggets were 29-4 when scoring 110+ points. The Nuggets outshot (.535 to .481) and outrebounded (45-39) their opponent for the second straight game.
