Two indictments unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court name 25 people connected to a methamphetamine distribution ring that investigators believe has been operating in Utah since 2009.
Twenty-five people were charged with felony conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, which is punishable by up to life in federal prison.
Those charged in the indictment will face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. Nine of the people arrested have an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office.
Two federal indictments detail the alleged plans of the 25 named, which included distributing more than 500 grams of meth around Utah.
The suspects were arrested in Utah, Salt Lake, Summit and Wasatch counties after a two-year investigation by the Utah County Major Crimes Task Force, FBI and ICE. The agencies work together to form the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.
Named in the two indictments are Fredy Sauceda-Obeso, 29, of Mexico; Rafael Quintero Lopez, 50, of Fontana, Calif.; Jaime Covarrubias Sauceda, 25, of Heber City; Jose Arturo Rubio Carillo, 45, of San Bernardino, Calif.; Melesio Flores-Quintero, 28, of Heber City; Jose Guadalup Vargas-Esquivel, 37, of American Fork; Victor Manuel Hernandez, 29, of Heber City; Anthony Michael Moreno, 28, of San Bernardino, Calif.; Yuliana Meza, 26, of American Fork; Erik Mauricio Meza, 30, of Salt Lake City; Oscar Salgado Martinez, 27, of West Valley City; Jorge Tapia, 43, of Heber City; Crystal Moreno, 30, of Pleasant Grove; Armando Lopez Fuentas, 29, of Park City; Roberto Rojas Torres, 37, of Park City; Jose Antonio Perez, 34, of Logan; Rocio Magallon, age unknown, of Orem; Ricardo Rodriguez, 40, residence unknown; Cornelio Reina, 52, of Heber City; a defendant listed as "El Quattro" whose age and residence is unknown.
Also named are Florentino Mondragon-Solorio, 24, of Heber City; Emily Jene Butler, 29, of Midvale; Laura Lillian Suarez, 26, of Heber City; Roberto Dominguez-Romero, 27, of Mount Vernon, Wash.; and Carlos Eduardo Rodriguez, 20, of Orem.
