Skiers and snowboarders took to the powder Saturday during the 23rd annual Ability Ski Challenge at Park City Mountain Resort to raise money for a nonprofit that helps disabled people enjoy recreational activities.

Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the National Ability Center, a nonprofit meant to build confidence and self-esteem in people of all ages and abilities by "offering affordable outdoor sport and recreational experiences in a nurturing environment," according to its website.

Participants could sign up as a four-person team or individually. Participants signed up in categories including Couch Potatoes, Weekend Warriors and Snow Shredders. Prizes were awarded to the best-dressed team and individuals, and to the top fundraisers.

The challenge, which went from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., cost $1,000 for a team of four and $250 for individuals.
