GRADE: A

When there's no more room in Hell, the dead will invade television. And do they ever in the increasingly creepy, bloodstained, and riveting "The Walking Dead — Season One," AMC's third classic TV drama (after "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad.")

Survivors of a zombie apocalypse wander outside of Atlanta. But in the best tradition of any undead journey, they must battle each other's growing angst and paranoia as well as flesh-eating monsters.

The show's deliciously gory with incredible special makeup effects.

Yet it's the dramatic and, yes, even moving, characters that elevate this zombie tragedy above all others.

The Blu-ray and DVD are packed with making of the show and makeup features. We just wish there were more than six episodes in the first season.
