Makeup of charter school board could be changed

SB140 • A Senate committee advanced a bill Wednesday that could change the composition of the State Charter School Board.

SB140 would require that three of the seven board members, all of whom are appointed by the governor, have expertise or experience in administering or developing a charter school and be nominated by an organization representing Utah charter schools. The bill also would allow the governor to remove members of the board for misconduct or sufficient cause.
