A 38-year-old North Ogden woman has been arrested for allegedly running a methamphetamine laboratory out of her garage.

North Ogden police Officer Paul Rhoades said the woman was nabbed Tuesday night after family members tipped off authorities. The woman initially told officers that the lab wasn't hers and had been set up in her garage, near 2500 North and 700 East, without her knowledge.

The woman also claimed she had disposed of some of the lab equipment in a trash bin, but officers found nothing in the trash. Eventually, police say, she changed her story and admitted to being a methamphetamine user and possessing lab chemicals and equipment.

On Thursday, she was being held in Weber County Jail on $20,000 bail, charged with first-degree felony possession of a clandestine laboratory; third-degree felony reckless endangerment; and second-degree felony obstruction of justice.

Rhoades said that agents of the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force removed the lab's chemicals and equipment.

Rhoades said the house did not need to be condemned after the garage was decontaminated.
