A five-car crash brought northbound Interstate 15's commute Thursday morning to a crawl.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Johnson said the 8:30 a.m. accident occurred near the freeway's 900 South exit, but stalled traffic as far south as 4500 South.

The accident restricted traffic through all northbound lanes at the scene.

No serious injuries were reported, but tow trucks were called for three of the five vehicles involved.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but Johnson said that "this appears to just be one of those chain-reaction accidents where cars were rear-ending each other."

Traffic flow had been restored to normal by 10 a.m.
