Church goers and other Sunday travelers across Utah woke to snow and less pollution — a trend likely to continue throughout the day.
About 2 inches of snow fell in most of Salt Lake and Davis counties; 1 inch fell in Utah County, according to the National Weather Service. The mild storm also improved air quality in northern Utah, where an inversion had taken hold early in the week.
The Weather Service was predicting snow or a chance of snow for the remainder of Sunday from the Idaho border south as far as Cedar City and Lake Powell.
About 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Murray, a motorist slid and struck the rear of a parked Utah Highway Patrol car sitting on top of the on ramp at 4500 South and Interstate 15. The trooper inside suffered a minor injury to a leg and the collision bent the patrol car's rear axle, said UHP spokesman Joe Dougherty.
Elsewhere in Salt Lake County, a Tooele man was driving east to work Sunday morning on U-201 when his Suzuki sports-utility vehicle slid in the slush at 8600 West, Dougherty said. The Suzuki rolled once and landed on its wheels in a drainage canal in 3 feet of water. Dougherty said the driver was wearing a seat belt and received only a minor injury to the top of his head. — It's slick out there, folks

• Salt Lake County — 44 crashes with property damage; seven crashes which caused injury
• Utah County — one car slid off the road, two crashes with property damage, two crashes which caused injury
