A dispute over a parking space allegedly ended with a knife attack and pumpkin fight last month at a Magna grocery store.
A man and his daughter faced off with a woman and her daughter in the parking lot at Smith's, near 8000 West and 3500 South. The woman threatened the man as he went into the store, and she and her daughter "began to yell at [the man] about panties and tampons," police wrote in charges filed Monday.
When the man and his daughter came back outside, the woman was approaching them with a knife, police wrote.
The man "punched the woman several times, kicked her in the face and pushed her into a pumpkin display," police wrote.
The woman tried to stab the man and then dropped the knife, police wrote. Her daughter picked it up, threw it into their car, and the two women drove away, police wrote.
The woman's son, who was at another store nearby, heard the yelling and arrived to see the man hitting his mother before she fled. He began throwing pumpkins at the man, police wrote.
The woman, 39, of Magna, was charged with two third-degree felony counts of aggravated assault.
