Salt Lake City police are determining what killed a man found at the rear of a home.

A roommate found the body about 8 a.m. Friday at the bottom of the stairs behind 1620 S. 1000 East. Salt Lake City police Sgt. Shawn Josephson on Monday said the death is considered suspicious but detectives do not yet know how the man died.

The roommate told police he last saw the man about 6:30 the previous night and the man said he planned to go to a neighbor's house to drink.

The dead man's name was not disclosed as of Monday afternoon.
