Two people were burned Sunday evening in a chemical spill at a Tooele metal plant.

The two victims suffered second-degree burns on parts of their backs when they came in contact with a chemical while working at ATI Titanium Inc., 12633 N. Rowley Road, said Tooele County sheriff's Deputy Clinton Fox. Responders classified the injuries as minor, Fox said.

Investigators did not know what the chemical was or how the workers came in contact with it, Fox said.
