The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Kane County and a watch for other parts of southern Utah.

The Kane County warning was issued at 4 p.m. and continues until 7:15 p.m. People in the area were asked to move to higher ground, and not to attempt to cross swiftly moving water. The warning includes Kanab, where torrential rains flooded homes and businesses last weekend.

The flash flood watch covers Cedar City and St. George and stretches as far east as Escalante and as far north as Milford. It includes Zion National Park and the southern mountains. The watch also covers Santa Clara, where high winds damaged trees and power lines last weekend. It was issued at 10 a.m. Sunday and continues through Sunday evening.
