6th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival • More than 200 vendors and exhibitors in handcrafted arts and engineering, live entertainment food and more. Information, craftlakecity.com/

When: 5-10 p.m. Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday

Where: Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main St.

Admission: Free

Sandy Hot Air Balloon Festival • See balloons fill the sky on Friday and Saturday, weather permitting, and maybe even help with the balloon launches. A "glow" is schedule for Saturday evening. Information, www.sandy.utah.gov/balloonfest.

When: Launches begin daily at sunrise (around 7 a.m.); Saturday "glow" is 8-10 p.m.

Where: South Towne Expo Center, 9575 S. State St., Sandy

Admission: $8

78th Annual Salt Lake County Fair • This year’s fair is themed is "Gone Hog Wild" and features family-friendly entertainment, a carnival, activities, contests, live entertainment and more. Information, www.saltlakecountyfair.com/.

When: 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily through Saturday

Where: Salt Lake County Equestrian Center, 2100 W. 11400 South, South Jordan

Admission: $10 per car
