Beck » The multitalented, multi-instrumental, multigenre musician Beck has a new album out, and he only recorded one song on it. "Song Reader" is a collection of songs that Beck wrote and released as sheet music two years ago for the online literary journal McSweeney’s. The benefit album, released July 29, features those songs recorded by artists such as Jack White, Jack Black, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Norah Jones, fun. and David Johansen. Beck did record one song on the album, "Heaven’s Ladder." No idea whether that song will make its way into Beck’s Twilight Concert Series performance at Pioneer Park — but it’s likely some of his hits, such as "Loser" or "Devil’s Haircut," will. Opening act: Future Islands.
