Spotlight show » Jazz music plays for two nights, on two stages, in an event that goes back to 2001. Headlining tonight’s show is Ellis Hall, known as "the ambassador of soul," performing a tribute to the Motown sound. Hall also performs as the final warm-up act for Saturday’s headline act, the Las Vegas ensemble Santa Fe & the Fat City Horns.

Reggae Rise Up Festival

Spotlight show » Reggae lovers will get their fill in the sunshine of Liberty Park this weekend at the Reggae Rise Up Festival. Saturday’s headliners are the Hasidic reggae/rapper Matisyahu and California reggae/rock band The Expendables. The big names on Sunday are the genre-bending Slightly Stoopid and a member of reggae royalty: Stephen Marley, son of the legendary Bob.

Kim Carnes
