Park City’s annual Summer Cocktail Contest has moved online so that more restaurants can participate and more people can vote.

"We are very excited to see how the contest unfolds, and we can’t wait to crown the winner," said Ginger Ries, executive director of the Park City Area Restaurant Association, which sponsors the event.

In previous years, a panel of guest judges sampled the 16 entries and selected the winning libation.

Under the new format, anyone 21 and older can visit the participating bars and restaurants, sample the cocktails and then vote online, Reis said. "We think this approach works out really well for both our members and for all their guests."

Voting continues through July 31 at parkcityrestaurants.com.

The winning cocktail and its creator will receive $200 and bragging rights and will be featured in a marketing campaign for Park City’s fall Dine About.

More than a dozen local bars and restaurants have signed up: Blind Dog, Billy Blanco’s, Deer Valley-Royal Street Café, Ghidotti’s, Grappa, High West, Red Rock, Silver Star Café, Silver, Squatters, St. Regis and Zoom.

Each establishment donated a $50 gift certificate, which will be given away throughout the month on the PCARA Facebook page.
