Downtown Farmers Market • Salt Lake City’s summer market opens Saturday with fresh produce, music, food vendors and more. Information, www.slcfarmersmarket.org/.

12th Annual Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival • Proceeds from this annual event go to Utah Foster Care. Artists ­­— 150 of them — begin drawing 2 p.m. Friday, judging takes place 4 p.m. Saturday. Artwork will be left for viewing through Sunday evening. Information, chalkartfestival.org/.

Hogle Zoo Unbirthday • Hogle Zoo is celebrating all its animals with an unbirthday party complete with crafts for kids and activities for the whole family. Special celebrations are scheduled for some of the zoo’s oldest animals including Dari, the oldest African elephant in North America, who will receive a cake at 10:30 a.m. Information, www.hoglezoo.org.
