DVD review: ‘Non-Stop’ an exciting, ridiculous ride

DVD •These days, you get Liam Neeson two ways: comic villainy (see "A Million Ways to Die in the West" or "The Nut Job") or the take-charge action hero in ludicrous thrillers like the "Taken" films. "Non-Stop" is Neeson in "Taken" mode, playing a troubled air marshal who receives text messages from someone threatening to kill a passenger every 20 minutes unless $150 million is transferred to a Swiss bank account.

Neeson's character must find the killer and convince the pilot (Linus Roache), flight attendants (Michelle Dockery and Lupita Nyong'o among them) and passengers that he's not crazy.

The plot is frankly ridiculous, but director Jaume Collet-Serra ("Unknown," also with Neeson) keeps things moving quickly enough that you may not notice.
