We’ve just reached the end of the May sweeps period, and household/total viewers numbers for the local newscasts are being released.

As is becoming a habit, the late-news numbers once again show KUTV-Ch. 2 in first place, KSL-Ch. 5 in second, KSTU-Ch. 13 in third and KTVX-Ch. 4 in fourth.

When the demographics come in a few weeks from now, that picture could be decidedly different.

Let’s look back to the February sweeps results, just three months ago.

This is actually a look at just the days during that sweeps when the Winter Olympics did not air; the Games skewed the numbers so as to be useless in any comparison.
