Show of the week » Mix driving dance rhythms with a dab of hip-hop and plenty of sex appeal, and you’ve got the pop duo Karmin. Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan met as students at Boston’s Berklee College of Music and gained exposure on YouTube. They released two EPs and garnered a reputation for cover tracks (examples: Chris Brown’s "Look at Me Now" and Nicki Minaj’s "Super Bass") before being signed by L.A. Reid to Epic Records. Their 2012 EP "Hello" set in motion their sound, mixing bouncy synth beats with Heidemann’s smart-girl rap. The duo’s long-awaited debut album, "Pulses," was released in March and produced the dance single "I Want It All." Opening act: Bonnie McKee.
