Go north April 11-20 for the fourth annual Ogden Restaurant Week. During the 10-day promotion, 16 independently-owned restaurants will offer a two-course lunch for $8 and a three-course dinner for $15. Participating restaurants include: Bangkok Garden, Bistro 258, Brixton’s, Garden Grill and Lounge, Hearth on 25th, Lucky Slice, MacCool’s Public House, Movie Grille, Prairie Schooner, Rovali’s Ristorante Italiano, Roosters Brewing Company, Slackwater Pizzeria and Pub, Sonora Grill, Tona Sushi Bar and Grill, Two-Bit Street Café and Union Grill. Apply for Harmons’ ‘Sliced’ competition

Friday, April 11, is the deadline to apply for "Sliced," a three-day cooking competition hosted by Harmons Grocery. Similar to the Food Network show "Chopped," contestants will prepare an appetizer, entree or dessert using ingredients from a mystery basket. The winners from the daily challenges will prepare their dishes for guests and judges during a final cook-off May 10. The grand prize is $500 and a local television appearance.

IKEA offers all-you-can eat Easter buffet

IKEA celebrates spring with an all-you-can-eat Swedish smörgåsbord that includes Swedish meatballs, potatoes, smoked salmon, herring, shrimp, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses, salads, breads and desserts.

National BBQ Tour visits Salt Lake City

The fourth annual Sam’s Club National BBQ Tour comes to Salt Lake City. Barbecue teams from around the state will compete at this local qualifying event in hopes of advancing to regional competitions where they can quality for the $50,000 grand champion prize. The public can come and watch the competition, directed by "All-Star Pitmaster" Troy Black, former editor of Southern Living magazine.
