Ticketholders to the "Beer and Ballet" fundraiser will sip craft beer from Epic Brewing Co. and sample appetizers from The Annex before watching the final dress rehearsal of Ballet West’s "The Rite of Spring."

Grants available for specialty crops

Grant proposals to increase production and availability of fruits, vegetables and specialty crops in Utah, are now being accepted by The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF). Individual producers, local organizations, schools and other crop stakeholders are eligible to apply for the federally funded Specialty Crop Block Grant program. In 2013, 15 projects were awarded, $280,000. The 2014 application deadline is June 6, 2014. Free java at McDonald’s

Get a free small McCafé coffee during breakfast hours through April 13 at participating McDonald’s restaurants. To kick off the restaurant’s two-week coffee campaign, McDonald’s also will make spontaneous coffee deliveries on Friday, April 4 and 11. To get the delivery, tweet the desired location or photo at @McDonalds_Utah. McCafé also will surprise one Twitter follower every day for the rest of the year with free coffee and prizes.
